Reclaimed tobacco lath creates a unique natural surface patina that developed over decades of use. These versatile tables can be used in a number of configurations to give flexibility to any space.
A bit of tobacco drying history: Once cut tobacco plants have wilted, their large stems are skewered with a metal tip attached to a thin piece of wood called a "lath" until there are six or eight plants on the stick. The metal tip then placed on another tobacco lath and the procedure starts all over again. When "stringing" the tobacco plants, the laths are either propped upright against the ground, or held on a framework called a "horse" for drying
Each table is made to order and no two will look alike. The tables are naturally rustic and the distress of each piece varies. Distress will not be considered a flaw. Furniture is a custom order and final sale.
