July 24, 2008
Since our yard is very large we have it divided into several sitting areas. Depending on the time of day it is nice to have an area to retreat to that has shade. This area became very overgrown this year. The white marble chips became worn and washed away and the weed block fabric became so worn out the weeds were out of control. We do not use any chemicals so we just pull the weeds as they grow. This year the weed situation became too much to handle and the area just started to look really bad.

Since we were having gravel delivered for the driveway we decided to work on this area and ordered red stone. This area was tough because the stone was delivered in the front of the house. The bobcat really helped George get the job done. He first removed most of the white marble chips and the old weed block fabric.

Once the weeds and chips were removed George leveled the area and installed new weed block fabric.

The red stone looks purple and created a new home for our Nantucket Adirondack furniture.

This sitting area became a lovely place to sit back with tea and read a favorite magazine.
